The creators

The Deaddy Bears have three fathers: Maximilien (Max), Shaya and Gauthier, their Dad.

One day, Max asked his grandmother to shape one of his drawings into real stuff. The result was a rather trashy triangular head, which his grandma had assembled with a piece of fabric, thread, wool, cotton and a button.

In the evening, Max was so happy to show his father his achievement that both decided this creation was far too cool to end up in a corner of the attic. So, Gauthier suggested the boys give way to their imagination and come with little characters: fantasy, geometrical shapes, trashy creatures with scars or cutely morbid.

Out of ten drawings after careful deliberation, they kept the top three of each boy to which Gauthier added a seventh character. What was left to be done was to give them a uniform appearance and a name.

The Deaddy Bears were born!

Max

Max

Max was just 12 years old when the Deaddy Bears were conceived.

He is an idealist and a humanist with a strong temper inherited from his Persian ancestors. Dotted with a rare protection instinct, he has a great sense of family. He speaks French with his father, Farsi with his mother and grandmother and English on the web.

Max practices sword and kendo. He is fond of literature and loves cinema. He plays chess and devotes a great deal of his free time to painting Warhammers and to strategy games.

Max created Oswald, Skully and Zoombie.

Shaya

Shaya

Born on the 27th of November 2000, he celebrates his birthday along with his paternal grandmother.

Shaya is very cheeky, although his Chinese astrological sign is the dragon and not the Monkey. He is full of imagination and spends a lot of time finding new ideas or building up his own toys.

Of an extremely curious nature, his instinct pushes him to endlessly exploring new passions. Hence he thinks about becoming a chocolate master if not a guitar hero or a professional basketball player. He practices kendo and he speaks French, Farsi and English.

Shaya created Ginger, Hammer and Mummy.

gauthier

Gauthier

Gauthier is a born storyteller.

Like most of his compatriots, this forty-year-old Belgian fell in the comics’ cooking-pot at birth. Impassioned with the 9th art and cinema, he found in the Deaddy Bears a dreamful opportunity to express his creativity while having fun with his kids.

Next to management studies at the Solvay Business School in the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB), Gauthier took a year of computer graphics and computer animation at the Academy of Art College (AAC) in San Francisco. During his spare time, he writes fairy tales and he draws comic books.

Gauthier created Deaddy Bear.
